The ABC has a short video story, arising from APAC'13, about schools in Australia failing students with autism (see http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-08-10/school-system-failing-autistic-ch…). The item specifically says that schools do not address bullying appropriately.

Unfortunately, state/territory and Commonwealth Governments refuse to recognise this issue and ensure children with ASD get the support that they need in mainstream schools. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) documents the consequence of failing to ensure a safe and effective education system for students with autism/ASD.

The ABS reported abysmal outcomes for people with autism in education (see http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/Lookup/4428.0main+features62009) and the flow on for employment/labour force participation (see http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/Lookup/4428.0main+features72009).
