Dear Minister Butler MP
I recently became aware of the Westmead's One Stop Shop pro bono service for profoundly autistic patients (and others with severe disability who otherwise do not access many crucial health services). This service was described on the ABC in 2023.
I am writing because this necessary service is not funded, and needs to be funded immediately. Autistic people, especially profoundly autistic people, have especially poor health outcomes because services like this are not funded. This service must be properly funded immediately - it cannot continue as just "philanthropic doctors" as that is simply unsustainable.
Please explain why Westmead's One Stop Shop service is not funded by government and being replicated in hospitals across the country (not just NSW).
