A4 highlights that for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Australia does not have a "justice system", what it has is a legal system; a system of legal processes that rarely delivers justice for people with ASD.

We are concerned that the recommendation of numerous previous reviews of the legal systems in relation to people with intellectual disability (30-50% of people with ASD also have intellectual disability) have failed to improve outcomes. There is little prospect for improvement if previous simple recommendations have not been delivered after 20 years or more.
