I have been aware that autism and other comobities are not allowed to be brought into the court setting for defence of anyone who is arrested in Australia, because the attorneys and barristers don't understand any of it enough to help the accused or direct defence for said accused and they extend that thought to include, 'not confusing the jury' as a legal stance, so those with autism etc are not legally represented with the truth of how, why etc they offended.
There are many such prisoners inside Australian prisons because they weren't legally represented adequately due to a lack of understanding in the legal system. My son is about to challenge that going forward and we are preparing for that end and his release.
